Ein neues Jahr,
Ein neues Semester.
Willkommen! Welcome to Planet Deutsch, a revolving mindsphere for the fearless AND the faint of heart. If this is your first semester in German class, Planet Deutsch is a haven, a home where you can find information about your class, read about the language, and learn about the German culture through articles, links, and contributions from readers.
Planet Inhabitants.
Planet Deutsch offers a multitude of lands to explore. Frau Bowles occupies two countries: Germ 1310 and Germ 2310. Dr. Langston has settled in three countries: Germ 1320, Germ 2320, and Germ 3303. Numerous other citizens have immigrated around the planet to inform and entertain all visitors. Learning Resources provides a comfortable setting for all tourists who wish to improve their language skills. The Lesesaal, a reading salon, is a potpourri, a plethora (voted most overused word in contemporary journalism by the denizens of Planet Vox), a panorama of the frivolous and profound. The Schatzkammer is a treasure chest for the curious who wish to explore and comtemplate the intriguing German culture.
Get Your Visa In Class.
Visas will be issued during class this week, so have your documents ready for the custom officials! Gute Reise!
A Trio of Native Speakers.
Three German students from Bielefeld are enrolled at UCA this semester: Carolin Brand, Anette Holrick, and Kai Roth. They have already visited Irby 207 and are looking forward to meeting German-language learners at UCA. Planet Deutsch extends "ein herzliches Willkommen" to these visitors from afar.
