Die Modalverben.
In Chapter Six we will study the modal verbs. These verbs express the modality of the verb; that is, they express the mood of the speaker such as ability (können), advice (sollen), desire (wollen), necessity (müssen), permission (dürfen) or possibility (können). These verbs are conjugated much differently from the simple present tense. However, the first and third person singular forms are the same.
Attributive Adjectives.
An adjective is a word that describes a noun. It can come after the verb "to be" (sein) or before the noun. If it comes before the noun, it has an ending that corresponds to the number (Zahl), gender (Schlecht), and case (Fall).
For example: I drink black coffee.
Ich trinke schwarzen Kaffee.
Black describes coffee. Notice that it doesn't have an article in front of it. This is important. Also notice that the German word has an accusative (en) ending on the word "schwarz." That's because there is NO article in front of "Kaffee." Kaffee is the direct object, so the word that describes it must have the accusative ending for a singular masculine noun.
Adjective Endings Examples.
Nominative:
singular masculine: Kalter Kaffee schmeckt nicht!
singular neuter: Schönes Wetter macht Spaß.
singular feminine: Frische Luft ist gesund.
Plural: Alte Sonnenschirme helfen nicht.
Accusative:
Singular masculine: Wir essen frischen Kuchen.
Singular neuter: Ihr trinkt kühles Wasser.
Singular feminine: Sie hört klassiche Musik.
Plural: Sie tragen bunte Kostüme.

A lot of the vocabulary is generated in the videos, so it is important to use this tool to help you remember the new words.
