Dear IEP Students,

There are a lot of American English idioms that we can use to describe what the weather on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning did to this week's schedule:

It threw us a curve ball.
It threw a wrench into the works.
We've hit a snag.

Anyway, the problem is that since UCA was more or less closed on Wednesday and may be closed again today, the students who were supposed to take tests and register cannot do so! Actually, school is not closed, but final exams on Wednesday and Thursday have been cancelled and moved to Friday and Saturday. If you need more information about the final exam schedule, library and computer lab hours, or graduation, please check the UCA web site: www.uca.edu.

Now, about testing and registration -- I do not know if the testing director and academic advisors will be in their offices today (Thursday). I am writing this letter at about 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, and right now none of those people are here. I hope to hear some news from them by 10:00 a.m. this morning.

If you need information, the best thing for you to do is probably to call me at 450-5120. I should be in my office all morning. If you call and I don't answer the phone, just leave a message. You could also E-mail me if you prefer to do that: lynnr@mail.uca.edu.

UCA is supposed to be completely open on Friday, so you should be able to take your tests and register on Friday if not before. UCA offices are also supposed to be open on Saturday.

One more thing -- if you would like a copy of the video that was made at the reception on Tuesday afternoon, please bring me a blank videotape.

Stay warm and enjoy your winter break. I hope to see you all in January!

Sincerely,

Lynn Ramage Schaefer
